One Flower Wednesday WIP

Two more flowers and two stars this week:
Maybe the green-brown-orange star looks more 70s than 30s/40s, but I really love it!

Some day my project should look like this antique 1930s quilt. I figured that I need 20 stars, 50 flowers and a few half stars.
I counted my finished pieces and so far I have 30 out of the 50 flowers and 13 out of the 20 stars.
All the other stars are cutted out and a few of the flowers, too. Now I need to cut many many muslin background hexies.
What I love about this setting is the fact that once you have surrounded your flowers with a row of white hexagons, you are almost done with the background. (Except some edge pieces.)
No need to add hundreds of boring white hexies later!

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Wow! This is an ambitious project, but it's coming along beautifully. I love the 30-40's fabrics and the mix of flowers and stars.

what method do you use to make your hexies? EPP or just hand stitch - I like this pattern that you are using, I am making one too using Inklingo to mark my lines I will need to add a lot of white later on - I hope it won't be too boring.
